Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies

The Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies (HITS) is a private, non-profit research institute that was established in 2010 by SAP co-founder Klaus Tschira and the Klaus Tschira foundation. It conducts basic research in the natural sciences, mathematics and computer science by working with large amounts of complex data. The research topics within HITS range from molecular biology to astrophysics.
