Lighthouse Projects

In five Lighthouse Projects, 3DMM2O researchers from different disciplines and the two universities collaboratively address the interplay of advanced 3D additive manufacturing technology and its applications in the life and engineering sciences.

Following our vision of turning digital blueprints into reality, 3DMM2O aims to surpass the current boundaries of 3D additive manufacturing, the underlying materials, and its applications. We leverage the highly interdisciplinary and collaborative nature of our Cluster in 5 Lighthouse Projects and 26 (smaller) Projects. Researchers from technology-oriented Projects “push” application-oriented Projects by offering newly available approaches, and researchers working on specific applications “pull” technology-oriented Projects to advance technology and materials. The Lighthouse Projects are of particular importance to us and involve several PIs from different Research Areas and Sub-Areas, all of which contribute to and benefit from the advances of the others.
